Jess Wharton

REGISTERED CLINICAL NUTRITIONIST
FUNCTIONAL GUT HEALTH NUTRITIONIST

  • Adv Dip Nut. (Wellpark College of Natural Therapies)
  • Cert. Functional Mycology (HPN)
  • Southern Cross Affiliated
  • Nutrition Blog writer for NZ Weddings Magazine

Jess is a Registered Clinical Nutritionist, who graduated from Wellpark College of Natural Therapies in 2018 and specialises in gut health and chronic disease.

Jess’s approach is to take care of the whole person in a holistic way, particularly paying close attention to diet and lifestyle, connecting the mind, body, and spirit.

Jess believes, without incorporating lifestyle changes, diet will not work to heal one’s gut microbiome. “The havoc that stress plays on the body, including; high levels of worry, lack of sleep, over or under eating, no exercise or over-exercising can cause high levels of inflammation which triggers the disease process which typically manifests wherever your genetic weakness lies”.

Jess’s approach is not about prescribing fad diets or calorie counting, rather her aim is to educate clients on how to nourish their bodies with whole foods that are as close to their natural state as possible.

Alongside this holistic approach, another one of Jess’s specialties is incorporating functional medicine and testing to help rebalance the body’s biochemistry and gut microbiome. Jess’s approach is to utilise the results from functional testing to ensure she gets to the root of each client’s gut health concerns and implements the correct protocols to achieve optimal health and longevity.

Jess specialises in

  • IBS – gut pain, bloating, wind, irregular bowel motions
  • Indigestion/Reflux
  • IBD – Crohn’s/Colitis
  • SIBO
  • Autoimmune diseases e.g rheumatoid arthritis, multiple sclerosis, lupus, psoriasis, graves, Hashimotos, chronic fatigue syndrome, etc.
