Happy Gut Smoothie

Smoothies are one of my favourite ways to get more veggies into your day! This happy gut smoothie is packed full of nutrients needed to ‘wake up’ and fuel your gut. The banana and handful of greens are packed full of fibre which feeds your good gut bacteria. The chia seeds are also packed full of fibre but Omega-3 which helps reduce inflammation in the bowels. The avocado is packed full of potassium which supports gut motility. The ginger is a great anti-inflammatory and stimulates the production of bile which is beneficial for digestive aid. The collagen and protein powder helps to strengthen the gut wall, making it less permeable and more likely to retain nutrients from food. The dates contain phytonutrients and soluble fibre which benefit your gut flora. The kefir yoghurt contains strains of beneficial bacteria and yeast which improves digestion.

Happy Gut Smoothie



Prep time




  • 1 frozen banana

  • 1 handful of greens

  • 1 tsp ginger

  • 1 Tbsp chia seeds

  • 1/4 avocado

  • 3 dates

  • 3 scoops Mitchells Collagen Peptides

  • 2 scoops Protein Powder

  • 2-3 Tbsp Kefir Yoghurt

  • Water or unsweetened almond milk to top


  • Place all ingredients into a blender and blend until smooth. Enjoy x
