This simple, tasty and refreshing side dish is great for the summer or winter when you feel like some green beans. This recipe results in green beans that still have a bit of crunch to them.
Ginger Green Beans & Onions

300gms fresh green beans (cut in half with the ends cut off)
2 Tbsp extra virgin olive oil
1 onion, sliced into rings
30gm ginger, sliced into small bits
2 cloves garlic, chopped finely
2 Tbsp soy sauce
1 Tbsp coconut sugar
1 tsp sesame oil
1 tsp sesame seeds
Directions
- Heat oil in a wok fry pan on high heat for about 60 seconds. Add onions, garlic, green beans, ginger and stir to combine. Cook for a few minutes.
- Add in soy sauce, coconut sugar and sesame oil and mix to combine. Cook for another 2 minutes or so until onions are light brown.
- Sprinkle with the sesame seeds and serve immediately. Season to taste.
